Ely District Outing 2014

For the District outing this year, on 5th April, we visited five towers in Northamptonshire. At least 35 ringers were present for the full day, with more coming for part of the day. The highlight for many was ringing on the 12 bells at Towcester, where we managed some very creditable ringing with the less experienced ringers ably supported in their first experience on 12 bells. It was pleasing to welcome some of the Young Ringers on the outing, thanks to Barbara for organising that.

Here are some photos from the day, thanks to Ruth Bramley and Geoff Grayton.

Easton Neston church (8, 9cwt). The first tower of the day in the grounds of Easton Neston House.

Towcester tower (12, 23 cwt). It doesn't look big enough to hold 12 bells.

The Butchers Arms, Greens Norton, which provided a lunchtime carvery for all of us.
