St George’s Day Ringing at Landbeach, 2014
St George’s Day Ringing at Landbeach, 2014
The Landbeach Bell Ringers celebrated St George’s day by ringing rounds and call changes and having a party, including food that was appropriately red (cherry pie and strawberries) and white (cream). The six ringers were joined by family and friends, including a former Rector and two little girls who live next door - who we hope will learn to ring in due course.
The photo shows our six St George’s Day ringers (no, we haven’t been augmented yet – we took turns)! The shield in between us, depicting the maker’s mark from our tenor bell, was painted for us by a member of the Landbeach Drawing and Painting Group. The Drawing and Painting Group’s beautiful paintings of dragons and flowers are pinned up on the board.
